In the early 1990s scientists from all over the world took part in the Human Genome Project. The purpose of this project was to de-code the sequence of more than 3 billion nucleotides and to identify all the of the genes present in the human genome. There is disagreement on the actual amount, but it is estimated that the genome contains anywhere from 90 to 95% “junk” DNA, non-coding DNA that does not contain instructions for making proteins. The truth is we don’t know what these genes do...until now!

During the late 1990s three scientists, with expertise in different fields, joined the project and made a startling discovery. Dr. Nassor Ousmane was aquantum physicist, second to none in hisknowledge of electromagnetic radiation. Dr. Emiko Takahashi was a molecular biologist whose focus was the regulation of gene transcription. Dr. Scott Raburn specialized in nanotechnology, he constructed “DNA walkers” called nu-bots to physically navigate the chromosomes. Together their method to sequence the genome was quicker and more accurate than those of any other lab. The nu-bots contained specialized micro-prisms through which various wavelengths of radiation would travel. Once these energy waves strike the DNA the vibrational response would be specific to each nucleotide. As the scientists exeperimented with this technique in actual cell cultures they soon discovered genes in non-coding regions became active.

Ousmane, Takahashi, and Raburn wanted to try turning these genes on in humans. They were authorized to experiment on select groups volunteers, prisoners, and soldiers. Some of the soldiers that took part in the program thought they were receiving treatments for gulf war syndrome. Some subjects died, some had no response. After a few years one soldier began developing telepathic abilities. The scientists started calling their procedure the awakening process. This soldier became the 1st meta-human and was trained under General Starke. What was unique about this soldier was that he developed multiple abilities whereas others only developed one type of ability. Dr. Takahashi began mapping these abilities to the chromosomes.

Supposedly the Human Genome Project was completed in 2003, but what really happened was the governments in charge wanted to end further exploration of the human genome. The fear was that other nations would start creating their own meta-humans. Any private labs or universities that tried to seek funding for genome exploration were prohibited. The government came up with all kinds of ways to keep others from obtaining this knowledge.

Meanwhile Ousmane, Takahashi, and Raburn became more sequestered. They were watched very closely. The government wanted to expand the awakening process to the general population for faster results. They targeted certain regions of the country. Specifically pregnant women & couples with fertility problems. Their plan was to monitor subjects & take them into custody if they became meta-humans. The US realized this was the next step in warfare. The tank and B2-bomber were becoming obsolete, meta-humans were the new weapons of the future.

General Starke along with several unknown accomplices sent the scientists into hiding in order to put an end to the awakening process. Once he formed the Strand, General Starke and Terrestria’s first mission was to destroy the notes & most of the records of subjects going through the process. They were not able to eliminate all the files, but a significant portion was destroyed. The wereabouts of these scientists is currently classified.
